A few days back, my coffee filter had fallen down and one of its parts came out. I did fit it back. However, I observed that unlike the fresh piece of the coffee maker, this one got altered. After this incident, the coffee maker started having coffee dust stuck to its filter plate whenever I opened it for a wash.
The other day, while I was constantly chanting and inquiring “Tat Twam Asi “(That thou art – You are that), I had again opened the filter vessel to clean the coffee dust and saw a huge chunk of coffee powder stuck to the filter plate. So, I scrutinised and re-opened the parts to see what was wrong and where I could have mistaken in my restoration. To have given that attention to details, I noticed that I had placed the filter in the reverse order with a groove where the coffee dust used to settle. Then, I simply reverted it and kept the plate with the rubber ring present there in the filter and instantly got convinced that this is the way it has to be put back and the coffee dust would not stick again unlike how it used to till now!
While I arrived at my discovery of the right placement, the self-inquiry about “Tat Twam Asi” too got fulfilled.
I realized that when the mind frame is reversed, the trench where the attachment, desires, expectations, etc settle down can easily wither off. One has to just let go of these by simply not allowing that platform, that resting place (complacency) in the mind where these emotional objects dwell. “Tat Twam Asi” is nothing but the outcome of this reversal: That though art, you are that! To sum this up, mind devoid of these settlements can unravel the pure consciousness that we all are inherently born with!
You are the one you came in search for. You are the one you are seeking – The one who can help you in troubles. The one who punishes you. The one who sets oneself in Pain and the One that liberates Oneself!
